British Birds: Barn Owl

British Birds: Barn Owl

The Barn Owl –a nocturnal, mythical bird of prey that makes its home amongst our barns, outbuildings and woodlands. It's signature double disc shaped face acts like a satellite dish, catching the noises of small mammals from the air and then distributing the sounds to their lopsided ears to accurately pinpoint their prey. Their numbers in the UK are still slowly recovering, and their population is closely monitored by wildlife groups and The Barn Owl Trust.

This print is part of a series of my favourite British Birds, with the original drawn in ink and painted with watercolour highlights.
10% of the profits from each print sold will be donated to the RSPB.
